BluEnergy Revolution

Organization Overview

BluEnergy Revolution (BER) speacializes in renewable energy technologies, with a particular focus on green hydrogen production, storage, and utilisation. BER is committed to driving innovation in the energy sector by developing sustainable hydrogen solutions for challenging industries, with the goal of decarbonizing industrial processes and contributing to the global transition towards a low-carbon economy.

Project Contribution

In the H2AL project, BER is a key contributor to the development of business models and market assessments related to the utilisation of green hydrogen in the aluminium foundry industry. The company provides comprehensive techno-economic evaluations of hydrogen production and storage, addressing safety, licensing, and operational requirements.

BER also leads the exploitation and innovation management activities, ensuring the project's Key Exploitable Results (KERs) are effectively transferred to market.

Goals

BER's objective is to demonstrate the viability of green hydrogen in sectors where abatement is challenging. BER goals are:

  • Demonstrate the viability of green hydrogen in sectors where energy consumption is difficult to reduce, such as aluminium production.
  • Establish a blueprint for the sustainable use of hydrogen in industrial applications through the H2AL project.
  • Accelerate the adoption of clean hydrogen technologies in industrial settings.
  • Develop business models that reduce reliance on traditional energy sources.

Key Expertise

BluEnergy Revolution expertise in hydrogen systems and industrial applications include:

  • Green hydrogen production, renewable energy technologies, energy system performance, and techno-economic analysis.
  • Design and optimization of hydrogen systems for industrial applications.
  • Efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Deep understanding of hydrogen readiness levels helping to assess the feasibility of hydrogen adoption in various sectors.
  • Market dynamics positions.

Challenges and Solutions

One of the key challenges BER is addressing is demonstrating the techno-economic viability of hydrogen in the aluminium sector. BER addresses this challenge by conducting comprehensive market assessments, developing innovative business models and proposing technical guidelines for hydrogen use.

BER expertise helps overcoming barriers related to cost, safety, and operational complexity, creating a clear pathway for hydrogen adoption.
