Juan Palacios Taubmann
CFD Simulation Specialist

Juan Palacios Taubmann is responsible for the development of CFD simulations of the combustion process in the 2A tower furnace as part of the H2AL project. His work supports the validation and optimization of hydrogen-based decarbonization strategies in the aluminium sector.

With a strong background in industrial engineering and metallurgy, Juan contributes to the technical advancement of hydrogen combustion processes by providing accurate and robust simulation data for the project.

Key Expertise

Juan holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (Metallurgy) and brings significant experience from national and international research projects related to steel-making processes, including continuous casting, secondary metallurgy, and reheating furnaces. His expertise includes the use of CFD and FEM modelling tools, water modelling, analytical calculations, and predictive software development.

Impact

By advancing the CFD simulation capabilities within H2AL, Juan plays a key role in ensuring the technological reliability and safety of hydrogen combustion systems. His contribution helps to pave the way for the application of hydrogen in aluminium foundries and potentially in a broader range of hard-to-abate industries.
