Project Contribution

Stefano Barberis, as the Exploitation Manager for the H2AL project, is responsible for the techno-economic assessment of green hydrogen systems for aluminium foundries. He coordinates exploitation and technology transfer activities to ensure the effective utilisation of the project's Key Exploitable Results (KERs).

Stefano supports the project in identifying business models and market opportunities for hydrogen application in hard-to-abate industrial sectors, contributing to the overall sustainability and scalability of the H2AL solutions.

Key Expertise

Stefano brings expertise in renewable energy technologies, green hydrogen production, and storage. His background in mechanical engineering and experience with turbomachinery provide the technical foundation to assess the feasibility of hydrogen systems in industrial settings.

His areas of expertise include techno-economic analysis, the evaluation of performance, efficiency and economic viability of hydrogen supply chains.

Impact

Through his leadership in exploitation management, Stefano ensures that the H2AL project delivers tangible and sustainable outcomes for the green hydrogen economy. His work will drive the adoption of hydrogen solutions in the aluminium sector, contributing to the decarbonization of energy-intensive industries.

In the H2AL project, we're looking at how green hydrogen could change the aluminium industry, which is one of the hardest sectors to decarbonize. By coming up with sustainable business models and technical guidelines, we're aiming to open up new markets and make hydrogen a viable energy source for industrial applications.
